Vista Bathrooms
This 60’s architecturally designed home in Glendowie oozes warmth and character and the views of the water over to Bucklands Beach are magical. The bathrooms, last refurbished in the 80’s, were still in reasonable condition but starting to show their age, certainly not a reflection of my client’s stylish flair for interiors.
The Brief
The family bathroom and guest powder room shared an interconnecting door which felt rather awkward and lacking I privacy so reconfiguring the space to work better was paramount.
My client was also keen to incorporate colours from ever changing tones of the sea and environment around them.
The Design
Whilst they had a feel for what they wanted, the challenge for my client was updating the bathrooms while still being in keeping with the existing architecture and in particular, rimu doors and window frames.
A soft sandstone tile and American walnut cabinetry was selected for both the en-suite and family bathroom to create a sense of cohesion. A soft aqua ‘kit-kat’ feature tile brightens the family bathroom and powder room and the feature wall in the en-suite, designed by a Japanese ceramic artist, is a nod to my client’s love of travel and ceramics.
The Result
The team from Alchemy Bathrooms were engaged to bring the plans and designs to life, resulting in three gorgeous new spaces for the family and their guests to enjoy.
“Lesley’s experience and in-depth knowledge of products and finishes and what was available on the market was totally invaluable as was her ability to be able to envisage how it would all go together.”
“The whole process was incredibly easy and fun, and the end result totally exceeded our expectations.”
